I am not a big fan of monotheistic religion and its worship, so walking into different Shinto and Buddhist shrines and temples always feels very different to me than walking on other holy ground like churches and mosques. Instead of feeling pressured down, I feel like I am walking into some kind of wonderland. It is quiet, but the good kind of quiet, and going up and tossing in 5 yen to Kamisama in the box and praying or wishing for something to come true reminds me of my childhood when we used to toss a coin into the wishing well.
