Shinjuku Gyoen

I have no idea why, but I have ended up in Shinjuku Gyoen several times lately. Here are some pictures I took when I walked for a stroll alone a couple of weeks back. It almost felt like spring 🙂

And lo and behold – I discovered that my camera had all sorts of fancy settings which probably equate to the lens-flare-filter in Photoshop. God damn awful but so much fun. Now I want to add stars to everything, despite my logical inner voice trying to tell me it doesn’t look fancy, only tacky. Whatever, it glitters.

(And yes, I know that the effects on the last one here is completely overkill, but how cool isn’t it that there are all kinds of whacky effects built into the camera? Got a little bit to trigger happy on the filter effects here though, but it was too much fun pushing all the buttons at once to see what happened.)

shinjuku gyoen is one of my absolute favorite places in tokyo! i’ve been going there often recently as well – trying to keep track off how the ume blossoms are coming along (first hints of spring!). it’s especially beautiful during sakura season, i’m really looking forward to it.
the built in filters look nice too! i especially like it in this shot http://sushibird.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/12022103.jpg i’m half-way expecting a fairy to show up!

Haha, we might bump into each other one day then! I am going back to Norway for a month or two now to take some exams, but I will be back in Tokyo in May, and I can not wait to see how the flora looks in the park then.

I actually think the filters are pretty overkill, I applied them to quite a few pictures, and 3 out of 4 times the result looks kind of tacky and cheap, but I had too much fun to stop myself. (I don’t like how all blogs these days have to be so serious and professional all the time, I miss the times when journaling on the internet was all about personal expression and not a grand stage show. Sigh.)

Thank you! I wish I could take pictures there in April, but I guess that will have to wait until next year…

Hvorfor har du ikke delt disse bildene før? FANTASTISK STED! Og jeg har også lyst å legge stjerner på ting, fordi det er kjempegøy og drit i om det er tacky.. 😛
