I took this picture back in 2003, and that is what made me really want to get into photography. It was taken with an old Nikon Coolpix 995, and I held a magnifying glass in front of the lens in order to actually be able to get close enough to get the macro effect.

A picture from Zamami in Okinawa. Best beaches in the world. It seems like a lifetime away already.

Ok, this is kind of a cop-out since this picture was taken by a purikura-machine (and not a person), but I really wanted to show off one of my BFFs. We live similar lives, albeit being worlds apart. So far we have managed to make time to meet each other on three different continents. Thanks for being there for me! Special thoughts goes out to you now in December, remember how awesome you are.

I can’t even quite remember when I took this picture. I remember it was back in October of 2003, and I remember life was a complete turmoil and drag back then. Looking at this, so much has changed, but getting rid of these negative feelings is a lifelong fight for most of us. When I took this picture, I never thought I would be around 10 – 11 years later. I am still here.

I have no other comments. Sushi in my heart forever. Uni is my favorite. If you ever find yourself on the eastside of Shinjuku, check out the place in the map below. Cheap and easy kaiten sushi, the resturant is nothing to call home about interior-wise, – but this sets them apart: They sell uni for 210 yen, and it tastes like it should be at least 800 yen for this plate. A steal. Great creaminess, and perfect if you are on a budget and want to spoil yourself. I always go here and order tons of uni.

(I know I am waaay to late to post this – but I really wanted to do this christmas calendar for my own sake, so I am going to post all of these posts and backdate them.) December 1st: A picture from the day you will never forget. This picture was from January 2007, and it was the first time I saw the neon lights of Shinjuku in Tokyo. I fell in love there and then. Little did I know I would end up moving here three years later, and little did I know I am still here.
