Polyvore is a site that I sometimes used to play around on, and then I forget all about it, until I suddenly remember it again, and go and play some more. I think most people use it to put together clothes and styles, but I have mostly used it just for fun. If any of you have an account, I would love to see it.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by life I draw birds because they are cute and make me smile.

(Made for illustrationfriday.com – “Deja-vu”)
I find it incredibly hard to doodle when I am given a topic. Anyway – when I get these deja-vu experiences, it almost always feels like a lot of things are very similar, but some things are also radically different, so I tried to draw two versions of the same thing.

Sometimes I really do not get what I was thinking. The poor guy’s wings are too small for him to fly, even. Maybe he can just be one of those cute balls of feathers to nozzle up to and keep your hands warm instead of a coffee cup.

(Made for illustrationfriday.com – “resolutions”)
I don’treally believe in New Year’s resolutions, but I think it is a good time of year to think of what you want to get better at the next year. Below – my list over things I would like to improve in 2011.
- Talk less, listen more.
- Smile more.
- Surprise people randomly.
- Make something beautiful every day.
- Tell people I love them.
- Stay in the moment.
- Stop feeling so god damn hazukashii.
What’s yours?

I added my Moleskine notebooks to separate pages here on sushibird.com. If you click the images below you will be taken to each of the respective journals. There were simply too many images to add them all in blog posts, and I wanted to keep track of the journals in another way. I love the feel of the pen against the paper in these notebooks. Some of them took a couple of months to fill out, the last one took me 1.5 years, I’ve had too much to do and to little time to sit down and doodle. If anyone else is keeping paper journals or knows of any inspiring paper journals I would love to hear about them. ♥
