April – recap

This is what I did in April; I was treated to champagne at this very uh.. colorful bar…

…before we continued home and had some more wonderful things to drink.

And I visited grandma, she is still going strong!

Ate sushi.

Cleaned up my shelves.

Experienced wonderful spring light.

Bought a new moleskine. (This is a trick up my sleeve for better performance at school – buy wonderful supplies so you want to write.)

There was a new cat, and I decided to name her Sushi.

Ate fish. Folkelig fiskegrateng er aldri feil. Nam!

See ya!

Mobile pics photo dump 10

Oh hi!  I just discovered I have a blog! I tend to not prioritize this place once exam season sets in, but now everything is finished for the semester, and I can go back to updating this thing. I have about 20 entries ready to go. Here are some mobile pictures from March, April and May. Above; a cute ad on the metro in Tokyo in March + a wonderful gift I recieved.

And landing at Gardermoen and eating sandwiches with real bread in Norway.

It was still really cold with snow on the ground back in March.

Fancy drinks from fancy parties both with friends and all alone at Kaffemisjonen.

Last, but not least – wonderful food from Jacob’s. Blue cheese and homemade cinnabun, who would have thought that would make such a great combo.

Gunvor R. Illustrasjon

My friend Gunvor just opened up her new gallery at Bryggen in Bergen a couple of weeks back, so I decided to go down there and take some pictures. You should all go visit her gallery and buy all of her amazing illustrations. Just follow the white rabbit which is located right outside the gallery door.

Gunvor is the queen of small rude monsters and drunk ladies.

Old-school serving-tray with buttons, candy and cards. I just want to eat it all up, including the illustrations.

Monsters and cookies and women in jars! How cool isn’t that?

Apart from the illustrations up on the walls, there are also catalogs with lots of other drawings, so make sure you look through the catalog when you visit as well.

And I laughed myself silly over this zine. Not to mention, a suitcase with glowing flowers! Just because. This little room will make you smile!

So! Go visit Gunvor! Her opening hours: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11-16. The address is Jacobsfjorden, Bryggen Bergen. (Up the stairs over Café Sakristiet). Gunvor also has a website, a blog, and an online shop for those of you who can not visit her gallery in person.

shinjuku gyoen

I forgot to show these little things. I have no idea what they are, but there is an area in Shinjuku Gyoen who have all of these funny little tree-thingies. If anyone know what they are, please do tell.

hanami go!

These pictures are from early March, I went to Shinjuku Gyoen with some friends. And I love how all the Japanese people gathered around the first sign of spring, some small small cherry blossoms on the tree in the picture above. I am out of Japan now, and will not return until the end of May (because of my exams), and for the most part I feel ok about that, apart from missing hanami. It is my absolute favorite season in Japan. Oh well, there is always next year…

Yours truly + friends. I realize I do not post pictures of my face that often, and it is probably just because it is not that easy to take pictures of myself with SLR-cameras.

On the other hand, I could lay in hiding in the bushes in the park and spy on the other people and take pictures of them. Fun day!

大阪城

I still have so many pictures left over to post from the trip to Kyoto and Osaka a couple of weeks back. Some pictures of Osaka Castle. I was so happy to see some of the trees behind the castle in bloom already. This was early March, so I had not seen any cherry blossoms yet this year.

vintage charm bracelet

Isn’t this beautiful? And the best part – it is the real deal! No fake plastic, but a real authentic one from the seventies. I am a bit unsure about how I feel about wearing things which can make me be perceived as religious, but I like the bracelet. At least I can take pretty pictures of it. The long golden snake-like charm reminds me of the golden poop-building in Asakusa. (For those of you who have been to Asakusa, you know what I am talking about!) It made me smile.
